Dr. David Limauro received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Denison University in 1988. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1992. Dr. Limauro completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann University, Allegheny General Hospital campus in 1996. Dr. Limauro was chief medical resident for one year after completing his medical residency. He then did his subspecialty training at Medical College of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann University, Allegheny General Hospital campus where he completed a clinical gastroenterology fellowship in 1998.
Dr. Limauro is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in Gastroenterology. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology and has published papers while serving on a national ACG committee. He is also a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology, National Celiac Association, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and Allegheny County Medical Society. Dr. Limauro serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the National Celiac Association and is an active medical staff member at St. Clair Hospital and South Hills Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Limauro’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of upper and lower GI tract diseases He enjoys working with and treating patients with challenging acid reflux symptoms, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He has been caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease for over 25 years and is experienced in using biologics and other advanced therapies. He initiated and grew our practice’s own infusion center.
Dr. Limauro enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife Kate, and their four adult children. He is active at Saints John and Paul parish, and enjoys playing golf and platform tennis.
