Dr. Lisa Oliva is a native of Western Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at The Pennsylvania State University in 1994. She received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1998. Dr. Oliva completed a one year traditional rotating internship at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University Clinical Campus. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University Clinical Campus in 2002. From there Dr. Oliva went on to subspecialty training at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University Clinical Campus where she completed a clinical gastroenterology fellowship in 2006. Additionally Dr. Oliva completed additional training in Liver Transplantation and Hepatology at Thomas E Starzl Transplantation Institute, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2005.
Dr. Oliva is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Allegheny County Medical Society. Dr. Oliva is an active medical staff member at UPMC/Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, St. Clair Hospital and South Hills Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Oliva's clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of biliary tract, liver and pancreas disorders, esophageal and colon disorders and screening colonoscopy. Dr. Oliva has volunteered her time lecturing to the community on the importance of colon cancer screening.
Dr. Oliva lives in South Hills with her husband and four children. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities including golf but most of all spending time with her family.
