ROBERT PAGANO, M.D.

RETIRED: Dr. Robert Pagano received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Dayton. He was a research biologist for five years before attending Rutgers Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J., where he received his M.D. degree.
Dr. Pagano completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in the subspecialty of clinical gastroenterology at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Pagano is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy , Pennsylvania Medical Society and Allegheny County Medical Society. Dr. Pagano is an active medical staff member at UPMC/Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, St. Clair Hospital, and South Hills Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Pagano’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of upper intestinal and colon disorders as well as screening for colon cancer. He has the privilege of caring for the GI needs of many patients with celiac sprue and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Pagano lives in the South Hills with his wife Nancy. They have three children. In his spare time he enjoys getting together with family and friends, jogging, writing, and reading.
