Dr. Xuong Lu is from the Pittsburgh area, graduating from Keystone Oaks High School in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at University of Pittsburgh in 2001. He received his medical degree Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2005. Dr. Lu completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in 2008. From there he went on to subspecialty training at Allegheny General Hospital, Temple University Clinical Campus where he completed a clinical gastroenterology fellowship in 2011.
Dr. Lu is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Allegheny County Medical Society. Dr. Lu is an active medical staff member at UPMC/Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, St. Clair Hospital and South Hills Endoscopy Center.
Dr. Lu's clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of pancreas, liver and biliary tract disorders, esophageal and colon disorders, as well as screening colonoscopy. He also performs diagnostic endoscopic ultrasound endoscopy (EUS), diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP’s and advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures including stenting of esophageal, enteral, colon and bile duct strictures and tumors.
Dr. Lu lives in the North Hills. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family.
